A Brief History GRAFLEX, Inc., a relative of Eastman Kodak.
1887 - The Folmer & Schwing Manufacturing Company was founded in 1887 as a partnership between William F. Folmer and William E. Schwing.
1897 - It began camera manufacturing.
1903 - It incorporated as the Folmer & Schwing Manufacturing Co. of New York.
1905 - George Eastman purchased the company and moved it to Rochester, where it was renamed the Folmer & Schwing Co., Rochester
1907 - The company dissolved, becoming the Folmer & Schwing Division of Eastman Kodak
1917 - It was renamed the Folmer & Schwing Department of Eastman Kodak Co.
1926 - The new Folmer-Graflex Corporation took over the reins
1945 - Folmer-Graflex Corporation changed its name to Graflex, Inc.
1956 - Graflex became a division of General Precision Equipment Corp.
1968 - Graflex became a division of Singer Corporation.
1973 - Graflex dissolved.
